After telling Donna and Al about the Castle Dome road they were very excited to see it, so we made plans to spend the day together and drive the 26 mile road from end to end. Mind you, when I say road what I really mean is trail, as in one lane, not maintained, old trail that in some places was barely big enough for our vehicle to get through. I believe it used to be the route for the pony express. Not kidding. It was a beautiful drive though and we made many stops to get out and explore. This was definitely one of those "off the beaten path" types of excursion. And it was nice to spend the time with Donna and Al.
