2013.03.10 Macy Cheering

Macy is cheering Jeffrey on when he is practicing his jumps on the snowmobile.

2013.03.09 Jeffrey "Getting Some Air"

Jeffrey has his own snowmobile and loves to ride every chance he gets. Tyler made a jump for him and he has been practicing "getting some air". He's pretty good!

2013.03.08 Yay!

Well, the Fairview boys lost their first game yesterday, so we are in Cartwright. Needless to say, the kids were happy to see us and we were happy to see them. We played in the "tents" all day. It's so much fun to see them again. I missed these little munchkins.

2013.03.07 Bozeman

The Fairview boys basketball team has made it to the state tournament that is being held in Bozeman, Montana. If they win the first game, Brandy, Tyler and the kids will be coming out for the rest of the tournament, but if they don't win the first one, they are staying home. Jeff and I are staying in Bozeman to see the outcome and if the boys don't win, then we will head to Cartwright for the weekend before heading home. This is a view of the mountains right out of Bozeman.

2013.03.06 Snowy Mountains

We are definitely not in the desert any more. We're heading back to North Dakota. It's been a fun time down south this winter, but the time has come to go home. At least the drive is pretty.

2013.03.05 Road to Leadfield

We spent last night in Beatty (just outside of the park) and are heading back to Death Valley today. We started our day at Rhyolitte, which is an old ghost town just west of Beatty. There were a lot of old interesting buildings there, along with a house made completely out of bottles. From there we headed to Leadfield, which is also an old, abandoned mining town. To get to Leadfield we had to travel on a one-way gravel road through the mountains. One thing about traveling with Jeff, he is always wanting to take the back roads, no matter how remote they may be. I'm sure that we see a lot more country than the average traveler this way. The ride was filled with great views and took us about four hours to go the 26 miles. After Leadfield, our next stop was to Scotty's Castle. This is a mansion that was built out in the middle of the desert. It was worth the time and effort to see.
