2012 304:366 Pumpkins

Payton and Derek carved the pumpkins that we got at the pumpkin patch earlier this month. They are here waiting for all the trick or treaters.

2012 301:366 Grandma and Jordyn

Jordyn and Grandma. Jordyn and Jonathan got married in Jamaica and had a wedding reception in Jacksonville a week later. I drove to Arkansas to attend the reception and had a great trip and a great time while I was there.

2012 300:366 Sistas

I love these two beautiful women and I am so very blessed to have them in my life! We don't get to see each other as often as I would like, but we sure enjoy it when we do finally get together.

2012 299:366 Decorations

I am in Jacksonville, Arkansas for my neices' wedding reception. We are decorating the hall today for the reception tomorrow. Jordyn did a lot of work and had some very nice decorations. She made it really easy for us and had everything ready to go.

2012 298:366 Little Cabin in the Woods

The fall colors were already starting to fade, but there was still some color left for me to enjoy. This was a roadside stop on my way from Branson to Little Rock.

2012 297:366 Branson, Missouri

I ended up driving most of the day today and didn't really stop to take any photos. This is the sunset in Branson, Missouri taken from the parking lot of the hotel where I stayed.

2012 296:366 Rose

Beautiful Rose Bud.

2012 295:366 The Ulrich Siblings

While on my travels, I had the privelege of stopping to see my Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Rodney in Kansas City and spend a few days with them. I had such a nice visit and really enjoyed getting to know them a little better. This is one of the photos that Jeanette has in her home. It is the first six out of the eight siblings in my dads' family. I love it!

2012 294:366 Fall Leaves

2012 293:366 No Boyfriends!

Every time that Jeff talks to the kids, he asks about their boyfriends (girlfriends). He can't see this, but this is the face that Abby makes when he asks. =D Apparently she doensn't have any boyfriends yet.

2012 292:366 Girl Scout Program

I made it to Omaha in time to see my #1 granddaughter take part in the Juliet Lowe celebration with her brownie troop. As you can see, she's very excited to do this.

2012 291:366 Bridges of Madison County

While traveling through Iowa, I made a little side trip to see the Bridges of Madison County. There are seven covered bridges, all within a few miles of each other. It was raining and windy, so I didn't explore as much as I could, but it was pretty countryside and worth the time that I took to make the trip.

2012 290:366 Lonely Leaf

This was taken someplace in Iowa, after leaving Minneapolis and heading to Omaha. I took my time and did a little bit of sight seeing, but the weather was cold and rainy and windy, so it was hard to do too much.

2012 289:366 Holly and the Girls

We snapped a few family photos tonight for Holly and the girls. Ryan was still at work and Donnie, Julie and I were on our way to Heidi's, so it was just the four of them. Ellie was also getting sick, so we just snapped a few photos and called it good. They are such a nice family!!

2012 288:366 St. Michael, MN

Just a quick shot from the place where Donnie and Julie live. It's very peaceful and pretty there. I had a great visit with everyone.

2012 287:366 Cousins

I am on the beginning of my three week trip ending up in Little Rock. My first stop was in Fargo, now I've headed to Minneapolis to visit with my aunt, uncle and cousins. We spent the day at the pumpkin patch. It was cold out today. Here are some of the kids in the corn maze. Shame on me for not getting a photo of all of them together. I had a lot of fun though and it was great to get to see some of my extended family. This has been the year for me to visit with as many as I can from my dad's side of the family and I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute.

2012 286:366 Pumpkin Patch

Derek and I took Mr. P. to the Pumpkin Patch out by Buffalo River State Park. It was a beautiful morning with lots of things to do. We also bought their pumpkins for carving.

2012 285:366 Mr. P.

I love this kid!

2012 284:366 Tackling Daddy

Brandy sent a "Cago Bears" helmet to Mr. P. because her kids were no longer using it and Mr. P. is a big Bears fan. We had our own little game of football in the back yard and Mr. P. made a good tackle here.

2012 283:366 Applesauce

I've been busy making applesauce from all of the apples on the tree in the back yard. Once you've had homemade applesauce (it's very easy to make) you'll never buy it again!

2012 282:366 Snowing again!

Those are some mighty big flakes falling from the sky!

2012 281:366 Ornamental Cabbage

OK, I'm really not sure if that is what this plant is or not, but it sounds goo to me. This is a plant at one of my neighbor's. I think it's gorgeous. There was also a white one there.

2012 280:366 Nancy

This is my Aunt Nancy! She was working at Glencoe Churchs' annual Pancake and Sausage fundraiser. Nancy has been a member of that church for many, many years. See that smile on her face?? Yep, it's always there. I don't get to see her as often as I'd like, but that doesn't mean that I don't love her all the same.

2012 279:366 Corn Cobs

These are some of the corn cobs that Jeff has brought in from the fields to feed the birds. They've sure attracted a lot of different birds, as well as some squirrels.

2012 278:366 Bluebirds

Jeff has brought in some sunflowers and corn cobs from the fields and it has been attracting lots of birds. I have been watching them from the living room window. It's been fun to see all the different species. Now I just need to learn about them.

2012 277:366 Hay Bales

I went for a drive this afternoon to check out the snow. We didn't get much, but know that it's on it's way. Not.ready.yet.

2012 276:366 First Snow

2012 275:366 Red Leaves

2012 274:366 Foggy Morning Moon

I'm heading home from Spearfish this morning and had to stop for road construction, so I took the opportunity to snap a quick photo.

2012 273:366 Black Hills Photo Shootout

We were on our way to the Attracting Wildlife workshop and had to stop for a great photo op. It was a beautiful sunrise and morning.

2012 272:366 Black Hills Photo Shootout

I went to the Black Hills Photo Shootout again this year. I believe that this photo was taken in the Cowboy Portraits workshop.

2012 271:366 Old Wheel

I am headed to Spearfish for the weekend, and since I am by myself, I decided to stop in Lemmon and Hettinger to visit a few of my old customers. This spot is along Highway 31 just a few miles north of McIntosh.

2012 270:366 Fall Colors

The leaves are falling fast now, so the colors won't last much longer.

2012 269:366 More Apples

I have made a few quarts of applesauce, but there are still lots of apples. I've ordered a food mill to help with the process. Hopefully that will make it go much faster, then I don't have to peel all of the apples as they are quite small.

2012 268:366 Fall Leaves

I made a quick stop at the Capitol as the sun was going down this evening to capture a couple of photos of the fall leaves.

2012 267:366 Walking Sticks

Jeff has been making walking sticks in his spare time. Jeffrey decided that he would like to give all of his classmates walking sticks, so he asked Papa to get them ready for him. Jeff does all the sanding, then I will burn the name into the stick, then Jeff stains them. Jeff is getting them all ready to take up there this weekend.

2012 266:366 One More Tree

2012 265:366 Neighbor's Tree

This is our neighbor's tree across the street. I need to enjoy it while the weather lasts.

2012 264:366 Apples

We have bags and bags of apples this year. It's time to get busy making applesauce.

2012 263:366 Tree

Here is the tree in our yard.

2012 262:366 Fall in the Badlands

I made a quick run through the north unit of the Badlands on my way home from Brandy's house today. The colors are not quite at their peak yet, but they are getting there.

2012 261:366 Fall

Fall is definitely on it's way.

2012 260:366 Hanging out

I caught these three just hanging out on the front step and snapped a quick photo. I just love them.

2012 259:366 Playing in the Alfalfa Field

I took the kids down to the bottoms to check on the guys and see what they were up to. I guess when you are little you can find a lot of different ways to entertain yourself. They made up a game of find the golf ball in the alfalfa field. We would throw the ball then run to find it. It's not always easy to find though.

2012 258:366 Combining the Beans

Tyler and Brandy came home for a couple of days, so that he could get some of the farm work done. He did get the beans finished up on top, but they were not quite ready on the bottoms. Jeff and Tyler also rebuilt the header on the combine. I guess that made quite a difference in how it worked.

2012 257:366 Ruts in the Road

These are the ruts in the road caused by all of the heavy truck traffic in Watford City. This is at the intersection turning from highway 85 onto 200.  I have to say though, that it's a good thing I took this photo when I did, as when I came back through here a few days later, they were fixing the road. Good thing too, this would be pretty tough to drive on when it's icy.

2012 256:366 Tomatoes

None of our tomato plants made it this year, so when a friend posted on Facebook that she had extra tomatoes, I was right there to pick them up. There is nothing like a home grown tomato. I roasted them, then canned them to make a tomato sauce. Yummy!

2012 255:366 Pickled Beets

I pulled out one row of beets this afternoon and got them pickled and canned. I didn't start eating beets until a few years ago, and it wouldn't bother me if that was the only thing that got planted in the garden. Jeff keeps trying to give them away and I get upset with him for that.

2012 254:366 Sunset

It was a beautiful sky this evening. I'm sure that the smoke is still a part of this.

2012 253:366 Leaves of Change

The leaves are changing. Fall is in the air.
