2015.02.12 Yuma Senior Games and Golf

I played pickleball in the Yuma Senior Games this morning. My partner and I signed up for the women's doubles in the 50+ age group.  We ended up winning a silver medal and were both very excited. The games were held here at Fortuna de Oro so we didn't have far to travel and we were both very familiar with the courts. One thing about the courts here, is that they are some of the nicest around.
We spent the afternoon golfing with Dona and Mike. We played the golf course here at the park. It's a pretty little 9-hole course and it was a beautiful day to be outside.

2015.02.11 Another Bike

We found this bike in Mom's trailer when we took her Christmas decorations there to store them. Needless to say, I confiscated it so that Jeff and I could go for bike rides together. This one has a very big and comfortable seat. As a matter of fact, Dona calls this a tractor seat.

2015.02.10 Goat Farm

The Red Hat Ladies had a mystery trip today and we ended up at a goat farm that is just south of Yuma. We learned about the Toggenburg goats and got to hold the baby goats. The owners of the farm produce many products with the goat milk, such as different flavors of goat milk cheese and also many different lotions. We had a good time and ended our day at Applebee's for lunch. This is a great group of ladies and I always enjoy our outings.

2015.02.09 Lost Teeth

A really weird thing happened last night. I had a tooth (one of my crowns) that just fell out of my mouth all of a sudden. Within an hour the tooth next to it also fell out. I put the teeth in a baggie and made plans to head to the dentist in Mexico this morning and have the teeth glued back in. Much to my surprise, the roots were not long enough to glue the teeth back in to, so I ended up having to have two implants and a bone graft. That is definitely not what I was expecting, but I guess that I am lucky that it happened here as the cost will be about a third of what it would cost me at home. I have two temporary teeth to tide me over for now, until I can get new crowns put in next fall. By the time that we got home, I was otherwise occupied and did not get my photo for the day, and I will spare everyone taking photos of my teeth. =D

2015.02.08 Busy Day

There is usually not a lot to do on Sundays, so I spent the day getting caught up on housework, laundry and just keeping busy with little odds and ends. Jeff and I put up the cover on our gazebo out back. It has finally warmed up so that we can sit outside and it's nice to have a little shade. I also helped Mom get her Arizona room cleaned out. She wouldn't let me take any photos though. =(  She and Dad built a nice, big room addition on to their park model. It has lots of windows and it bright and airy. It's a great place to host a card party or a gathering.

2015.02.07 Softball

Jeff has a softball game almost every Saturday. I usually go to play pickleball in the morning, then will come home to shower and head to the game. My intentions are to get there by the start of the game, but so far have not been there until about the 5th inning. Oh well, I guess that there is always next week.

2015.02.06 Ferguson Lake

I don't know these people, but there really are fish in this river. =D

I guess that I just need to start shooting selfies if I'm going to be in any of the photos.

We spent the afternoon on the river again. This time we headed to Martinez Lake and Ferguson Lake. The guys (bless their hearts), keep trying to catch fish, but so far have been unsuccessful.  We have run into other people that are catching fish though, so we know that there are fish in the river. We all decided that so far, Ferguson Lake is our favorite. It is very remote and nothing but the scenery around there to enjoy.

2015.02.05 Pickleball Round Robin and Anniversary

Happy Anniversary! 44 Years!!!!

International Space Station (No tripod)

We had a pickleball round robin this morning and Jeff and I both played. Neither one of us made it to the finals, but we sure had fun. I love playing pickleball and like the round robins which gives me a chance to play with many different people.
Dona and Mike are celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary today, so we went to the pool and cooked a steak dinner on the grill. It was a really nice evening and we all had a great time.  While we were at the pool, the international space station flew over.  This picture is hand held, so it is very blurry. It went over in a hurry, as it moves at 7 km per second.

2015.02.04 Pool Day

We didn't really do to much today, other than hang out by the pool. That is the first time this year that we were able to do that too. After the pool, Dona cooked some super awesome shrimp fajitas for us then everyone enjoyed ice cream bars for dessert.

2015.02.03 Palm Canyon Hike

The four of us took a little drive (about 65 miles) and headed north to go hike at Palm Canyon. We had been told how beautiful it was and that it was a flat hike. That would be good for Jeff, since hiking is hard on his knees (mine too, if it's too steep). Turns out that it was beautiful up there, but it wasn't exactly what I had expected and it definitely was not flat. The palm trees were lining a ravine going up the side of a mountain, and I had kind of expected that we would be hiking right next to the trees and that there were lots more of them. It was still kind of neat to see them and we were there at the right time of the day, as the sun was lighting them up. One thing about the Arizona desert, the terrain changes all the time and there is always something to do or see.
