115:365 Botanical Garden

Gina and I spent the afternoon at the Botanical Garden in Phoenix. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. It's a beautiful place. If I were here full time, I think that I would buy a membership, as I am sure that it changes with the seasons. There was also a butterfly room, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

114:365 Gina's Grandkids

Hoppy Easter! We had an Easter egg hunt this afternoon with all four of Gina and Larry's grandkiddos. I was nice to the kids so they were nice to me and posed for me. Even little Madisyn. She had told me no at first, but then she decided that she would cooperate. A fun time was had by all.

Gina invited me to go hiking with the hiking club at her church. I can't remember the name of the park where we hiked, but we had a great time. I didn't run in to any slithering critters this time either.

Madisyn was trying to show me a hole in the ground and trying to tell me that it was a snake hole. I just love the expression on her face. She is an absolute doll.

111:365 Flying Lessons

One of Jeff's old high school buddies lives in Phoenix and invited Jeff to fly model airplanes. As it turns out, this is quite an art. We had a great time learning to fly the planes and have decided that maybe this is something that we will pursue. I can put the planes together and Jeff can do the flying. It will be a hobby that we both can enjoy.

110:365 Gina & Larry

Gina, Larry, Jeff and I drove up to Saguaro Lake this evening for nachos. It is one of my favorite places to go in the afternoon. It's really close and such a pretty drive.

109:365 State Capitol Museum

With a few extra hours to spend this afternoon, I went to the Arizona State Capitol and toured the museum. It was about a half hour drive from here. Jeff decided that it would be a good time to take a nap, so I went by myself. I enjoyed being able to take my time while browsing the exhibits.

108:365 Saguaro Buds

Walked down to Gina's for supper tonight. Some of the Saguaro's are starting to bloom. I was really hoping to see the blossoms before we leave. YaY!!

107:365 Sedona

JoDee, Gary, Jeff and I took a day trip up to Sedona on Sunday. We have all been there before, (acutally JoDee and Gary were married there), but I don't think that you can ever tire of the beauty this is Sedona. Gary said it was going to be an oooohhhh, aaaaahhhhh kind of day and he was right.

106:365 Zac's Party

Zacary turns 11 this week and we were invited to his party to help him celebrate. We made marshmallow guns and the kids had a great time chasing each other around and shooting marshmallows at each other.

105:365 Horse Races

We went to the horse races today. I didn't fair well myself, but some of us were lucky. I think that every horse that I bet on came in dead last. At least I was consistent that way.

Here is the progress on the cactus blossom in our front yard. I thought that it would be more open by now. I hope that it is fully open by the time that we leave.

103:365 Shelby and JoDee

JoDee took Shelby and I out to luch today to celebrate Shelby's exactly six months until she turns 21 birthday. We went to My Big Fat Greek Restaurant. The food was very good, but the company was even better. Shelby showed us her apartment and the places where she hangs out around ASU. It was fun, we had a good time.

102:365 Beautiful Women

Brenda and Pam spent the night with us and were flying out early in the morning. I wanted to do something special while they were here so we drove up to Saguaro Lake to have nachos at the little restaurant only to find out that they are closed on Monday and Tuesday evenings. I had been looking forward to that for almost a week and I was bummed. It is so pretty up there. We still got to enjoy the scenery along the way as well as each others company.

We took a ride out to the sand dunes in California this afternoon. Just a short trip to get away for a bit. It looked like lots of fun. I think that next year we will probably try to rent a couple of ATV's and have a little fun one weekend.

It is springtime in the desert and everything is blooming. I can't wait to go walking with the camera and get photos.

We got to go to Zac's first baseball game of the season last night. It was fun to watch little league again. It certainly brought back lots of good memories from watching Derek play all of those years. And this time, we got to sit in the rain with no snow involved at all. =D Zac did a great job catching and hit a couple of doubles and also got some RBI's. Way to start the season!!

095:365 Sunset Drive By

Jeff and I were heading home from Phoenix and he was driving this time. The battery had died on my big girl camera so I was trying to snap photos with my P&S. The sky had turned a brilliant shade of orange and I tried to capture that, but obviously a tree got in the way and the colors didn't turn out anyway. I'm going with this because it's the best that I have for the day.

094:365 Cactus Bloom

All of the cacti are starting to bloom and this one is right out in our front yard. I am going to take a photo each Monday until we leave to see the progress. The more I look at this photo, the more interesting it becomes to me.

We were out driving around looking for houses and made a quick trip up to Tortilla Flats. Well, I guess not quick, but decided to go up as long as we were in the area. It's a beautiful drive.
