2012 057:366 Bubbles
Just playing with the camera today. I think that I'll try this again, only put a small photo underneath to see if I can catch that reflection in the bubbles.
Day 025: Portrait
This is the kids' other grandma, or Tyler's mom, or Otis, or Elaine or Annie. She has many different names and many different roles. I am happy to call her friend.
2012 055:366 Running the Bales
We went to Cartwright to spend a few days with the kids while Brandy and Tyler were gone. Before Jeff and I left for home, we all went out to feed the cows. Jeffrey took advantage of the time to run back and forth across the bales.
2012 054:366 Pretend Communion
The kids' Auntie Jen Jen will be getting married this May and has she has asked me to take photos at the wedding. As long as I was in Cartwright for the weekend, I wanted to go to the church and check on the lighting and the coloring. These two agreed to help me by modeling for me. In between takes, they pretended to be giving and receiving communion. Macy even knew all the words to say. She's pretty awesome!!
2012 053:366 Little Miss M for Monkey
This is not a good photo at all, but it is the only one that I got today. It was getting dark and it's hard to get these kids to stand still for even a few seconds.
2012 051:366 Tree Reflection
This is the puddle that is on the corner by our house, and this is February!! (I'm actually posting this 10 days later and we are expecting 5-10 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow, so it's a lot different now.)

2012 050:366 French Fries
My sister called me this afternoon and said that she needed a favor. One of her friends' son is doing a project and trying to get someone from each of the 50 states and several countries to all eat french fries today. He had 49 states covered and only needed someone from North Dakota. While I don't normally eat french fries (I consider them a treat), I said that I would take one for the team and order some from our local cafe and eat a few. After I ordered them, I received a text from my sister and said that the project is for tomorrow. Ha, I guess that I'll have french fries two days in a row. Hopefully I will remember.
2012 048:366 Harry Potter Books
I keep saying that I want to read all of the Harry Potter series, but I haven't even started book 1 yet. I have listened to six of the seven books on tape and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. I also keep looking for the last book of the series every time that I go to the library, but it's never there. Maybe I should put it on hold, so when it does come in they will let me know and hold it for me.
2012 045:366 PMan's Convertible
Derek has class on Tuesday nights, so I went to Fargo to stay with Payton. He and I went for a walk in the evening, but as I was taking the car outside and down the steps, the roof fell off and I couldn't get it put back together. We decided that we could just call it a convertible and go. By the time that we had finished walking, the door had fallen off as well as the yellow posts in this photo. We were leaving a trail to find our way home, I guess. =D
2012 044:366 Sunset Silhouette
Nothing exciting tonight. We traveled home all day, and I did quite a bit of the driving, so no chance to take photos. Once we got home and I downloaded all of my photos from my trip, I noticed a spot in a lot of the photos. I was trying to see if it was still there, by taking a photo against the sky. It was, and I needed to take the camera in to be cleaned. What a bummer.
2012 043:366 On a Hike
Jeff and I went for a hike around the geisers at Old Faithful. It's about a three mile hike around there. There is about a foot and a half of snow on the boardwalk coming back and got really icy in a few spots, but we made if just fine.. It snowed the entire time that we were there, so there was a nice, fresh coat on everything. Again, I'll just say, Wowza! It was beautiful.
2012 042:366 Yellowstone River
Jeff and I went on a tour of the park. We rode around in a 'weasel' up to Canyon and around Yellowstone Lake, then back down on the west side through Norris basin down back to Old Faithful. It was a full day with lots of stops. I think that I like Yellowstone better in the winter. It was warm outside and the scenery was beautiful. Wowza!
2012 041:366 Jeff at Yellowstone
Jeff was in Fargo this week and called me on Tuesday to see if I wanted to go to Yellowstone for the weekend. Of course I said yes! I called and made reservations and we left Thursday afternoon. I didn't realize that we were not allowed to drive in the park in the winter. They have snow coaches for travel or snowmobiles. This was our ride from Mammoth down to the Snow Lodge at Old Faithful. We had a fantastic weekend!

Day 10: Sunset
We are in Gardiner, MT tonight and the theme for the day is sunset. I knew that being in the mountains, I would really not see a sunset. Usually, it seems the sun just falls behind the mountains and it gets dark. We did end up getting a little bit of color in the clouds though.
2012 040:366 Yellowstone Park
Jeff and I are headed to Yellowstone for the weekend. I have a lot of photos to choose from for my photo of the day, but I really like the quote on the arch leading in to the park. "For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People".

2012 039:366 Park
I went to Bismarck to run a few errands this afternoon, then went to the park to snap a few photos. I shot everything in black & white today. I like the way that this wheel and post look in black and white.
2012 038:366 Cord
I walked downtown to get the mail this afternoon looking for blue objects for my project and saw this hanging on my porch when I got home.

2012 037:366 Experiment
I am home recovering today from a stomach bug, so it was late this evening before I even thought about picking up my camera. I was trying to get a refraction/reflection(?) of a cheerios box in the water droplets, but that wasn't working out very well, so I added some oil and tried a smaller object. That wasn't working out so well either, but I think that this shot is kinda cool. I do have something to strive for now. I still want to get a shot of an object being refracted in the water drops. I think I may have to try different lighting.

Day 6: Winter
It has finally gotten foggy the past couple of days in North Dakota, so the frost has been piling up, and wouldn't you know it, I am home sick. I did walk out today and get this photo before the frost was entirely gone though. It was up to 50 degrees here today, so once the fog lifted, the frost didn't hang around long.
2012 036:366 Kids
The kids were getting packed up to head home and Brandy was smart enough to grab her camera and get a photo of the three of them together. I have been sick for the last week, so I haven't really been on top of my game. I did hurry and throw on my coat and shoes to get a quick photo of them though.
Day 5: Symmetry
Jeff bought each of the kids lights that twirled around at Disney on Ice today. I shut off all the lights in the house and used a slow shutter speed to get this shot.
2012 035:366 Derek's Big Fish
The kids came home for the weekend so that we could go see the show Disney on Ice. Derek went fishing with Scotty on Friday night. He had a lot of pressure on him, because every time that Jeff goes fishing with Scotty, they come back skunked. Everyone is starting to claim that Jeff is the jynx. I told Derek that he couldn't let it be the Spitzer jynx, so he needed to catch some fish. Well, look what he came home with. The one on the left is about four pounds. That's a pretty decent walleye! So, it has been determined that it is Jeff that is the jynx, not all Spitzer's. Although, Brandy says that they usually don't catch fish when she is around either.
2012 034:366 P-Man and the Frost
Derek, Payton and I headed to Wilton this morning. We traveled in fog most of the way, so everything was really pretty and frosty. We stopped at a rest area along the highway and gave Payton a chance to get out of the carseat and stretch his legs. He found a branch that he could reach and shake off the frost and tried to catch it with his tongue.

Day 003: Texture
This is the tree out in Derek's front yard. So far, it's been a well photographed tree.
2012 033:366 P-Man
Well, it's happened. P-man has joined the ranks of not wanting to have his picture taken. He has started to hide his face when I grab my camera. I had one chance to get this photo, then he starting covering his face with the hat. I'd say that it turned out pretty well for the few seconds that I had to capture this. Isn't he a handsome little guy? He has such a nice smile and I just love his laugh.
