090:365 Sisters

JoDee and I are at Karlyn's for a couple of days and we spent the day running around. I was busy with the camera and snapped 178 photos today. This one is by far my favorite and it was taken by my nephew. Can you tell that we are sisters??

089:365 Tree

I just thought that this was a cool shot. The tree is kind of peeling away.

088:365 Wind Towers

JoDee and I drove to California on Tuesday to visit Karlyn. We drove through Palm Springs and were able to see all of the wind towers along the highway. WOW!! The photos were all drive by's since we had just gotten out of a traffic jam that lasted over an hour. We ran across two traffic jams yesterday caused by accidents. The first one lasted about half an hour and the second one about an hour. That really adds to the driving time. We will be heading back home on Friday, so maybe I will be able to stop then and get a few decent shots.

087:365 Books

I really thought that retirement would bring me lots of time for reading, but boy was I wrong. We are running all the time. I used to laugh at people that said they never had a day off when they retired, but I totally understand now what that means. Currently I am half way through The Help and I have been reading it for more than three weeks already. It is a good book but the only time that I have to read is right before bed, and by then I am exhausted and can't make it through very much before I am fast asleep. Maybe when I get back home I will have more time??

086:365 Quail

I was sitting in my chair this morning and looked up to see this quail watching me from the patio. I looks like he is looking in wondering what's going on inside.

085:365 Hiking

Gina invited me to go hiking with the hiking club from her church. We went on a 5.3 mile hike in the McDowell mountain range. It was a great time. We did run across two rattlesnakes on the trail. The first one we knew was there (some hikers headed back had warned us) so we were expecting that. The second one I heard rattle as I walked by the bush. Needless to say, I have inherited my mother's fear of snakes and I jumped and ran. Gina was behind me and stopped and slowly backed up (just like you're supposed to do). She and a few others behind her saw that snake and took a few photos. Me, I never actually saw the snake and there was no way that I was going to go back and take any photos. I also ran by the spot on the way back down the mountain, but I believe that the snake was gone by that time.

Other than the snakes, this was an absolutely beautiful hike. I am definitely going to try a few more trails before we leave here.

084:365 Mom

This is my mom. She always has a big smile on her face. I love this photo.
