2015.03.28 Hike to Palisade Falls in the Gallatin National Forest

Brandy made sure to tell all of us that we would be hiking on Saturday while we were in Bozeman, so be sure to bring the appropriate clothing. Her good friend had moved to Bozeman some time last year and had a great hike planned for us. It was a beautiful morning, but the weather forecast was for rain and snow in the afternoon, so we left earlier than we had originally planned. That turned out to be a good move on our part, as it started to rain and snow and the wind was blowing by the time that we got back to our cars. It was a bit of a drive up the mountain and the road was closed about a mile before the trailhead, so we had to hike that extra mile up the snow covered road. We all had a great time and it was fun to spend time with the kids.

2015.03.27 Bozeman

I had never noticed before this morning that our sidewalk makes a cross. This was our view as we were leaving for Bozeman.

We have traveled to Bozeman for the Montana State Gymnastics meet. Our little Macy will be competing in the Level III division. We are so proud of her.

Even when she does this for the camera. =D

2015.03.25 Jeff's Retirement

Jeff has been waiting for a long time for this check. Each year, if the Elevator made money, a portion of that money was set aside for Jeff's retirement based on the amount of grain he had sold that year. Jeff finally turned 65, the magic age to get your retirement from the Elevator. He wants to use the money to travel in the next few years and one of the first big trips that we want to do is to travel around Sweden, Norway and Finland this summer. We are really hoping that we can make it work, as that will be the trip of a lifetime for us.

2015.03.24 Jeffrey's Basketball

Grandma, Macy and Cambre

When your grandson calls to invite you to his basketball game, and you are going to be home, you go. It doesn't matter if it is a three hour drive. Jeffrey made a special call to both Jeff and I to invite us to his game against Sidney.  He has started playing basketball as an organized sport this year and is very proud. We were honored to get the invitation and made the trip to Fairview. It was a lot of fun to watch the kids. I believe that this was the second game that they played against another team and the nerves were showing. I'm hoping that this will be the first of many games that we will be attending.

2015.03.23 Hum Baby Hum

Jeff's brother Tom was killed in the Vietnam war and I don't think that a day has gone by that Jeff hasn't missed him greatly.  We will be visiting the Vietnam Memorial when we are in Washington, D.C. next month and Jeff wants to leave a baseball there for Tom, as that is one of the memories that Jeff has of his brother. Tom used to say "Hum, baby, hum" when he and Jeff were playing catch in the yard.
